About

Rayell is a location sound mixer local to Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, Texas. In 2017 he channeled his experience as a sound mixer in the documentary "Home + Away" which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. For 7 years, Rayell's work orbited the documentary world, exploring the hardships and struggles of immigration through numerous audiovisual projects. The Toronto International Film Festival premiered "Ready for War" (2019), showcasing Rayell's work as a sound mixer and his ambition to capture the distinctive essence of the border town by following the stories of veterans deported from the United States.
A 2015 alumnus of the University of Texas at El Paso, Rayell constantly seeks to collaborate with the local film community in the bordertown and the state of Chihuahua. In 2025, Berlinale premiered “Olmo” (featuring Rayell as sound mixer) by renowned Mexican filmmaker Fernando Eimbcke.
